I told the person that I didn't recognize the link so I wasn't sure what they were asking - they said their account was hacked and not to click the link - kind of too late for that.Īny help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ![]() I would like to throw in a small bit of information(it may be useless) but I was sent a link by someone on twitter and I clicked it and it took me to some website which I wasn't familiar with so I immediately closed it out. Even though I was just using it yesterday before all of this started. I have since repaired Edge and it came back and I uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome and its back working but I cannot find Wordpad or Notepad. What would cause me to lose these apps? I feel like I may have lost more but I just don't use them to know. I did a full malware scan with malwarebytes and multiple antivirus scans and they didn't come up with anything. It was a registry edit which I since then changed back. I didn't make any changes except to disable Cortana. The programs that I lost for some odd reason are: Notepad, Wordpad, Event Viewer, Google Chrome, and for some reason Edge got removed as one of the tiles and the icon disappeared beside Edge in the start menu. $Application_Icon = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.My issue today is after restarting my pc I seem to be missing several programs - or more so they just aren't in the start menu anywhere. $Application_Path = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.EXE" $Application_Disc = "Microsoft Word 2013" $Shortcut = $WshShell.CreateShortcut($startmenu + $strAppFold + "\" + $strAppDisc + ".lnk") Param ($strAppDesc, $strAppPath, $strAppIcon, $strAppWDir, $strAppSpar, $strAppFold) ![]() $WshShell = New-Object -ComObject WScript.Shell #Define needed Vars / ComObject (basicly same use like in VB) and Path to Startmenu You cannot rewrite the xml in user context it's just a "Template".įor Example with PowerShell (Create App Shortcut and Folder): You need to create for each User Group Case your own xml. But I dont like that this configuration isn't dynamic. You can create Folders and Shortcuts in Startmenu, Desktop s.o. I suggest beside WEM the using from PowerShell.
